Program Manager

About Vibe Tribe Adventures:
Vibe Tribe Adventures is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing equitable access to outdoor recreation, environmental education, and adventure sports for historically marginalized communities. We strive to create transformative experiences that promote health and wellness, leadership development, and environmental stewardship. With a strong focus on BIPOC communities, youth STEAM development, and women's health programming. We aim to break barriers and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to connect with the outdoors.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and manage year-round programming, including hiking, camping, snowshoeing, river rafting, ziplining, yoga, environmental justice projects, and nature therapy sessions.
- Create detailed program schedules, itineraries, and activity plans for winter, spring, summer, and fall programming.
- Ensure programs align with Vibe Tribe Adventures’ mission, goals, and values, with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Adventure Guides, instructors, volunteers, and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that reflects the values of Vibe Tribe Adventures.
- Ensure all staff members are certified and trained in first aid, wilderness safety, and other relevant skills.
Logistics and Operations:
- Oversee program logistics, including transportation, gear rentals, permits, and event coordination.
- Manage the inventory and distribution of outdoor equipment from the Vibe Tribe Gear Locker.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and risk management best practices.
Community Engagement and Partnerships:
- Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to build partnerships and expand program reach.
- Work closely with city parks, state parks, and other outdoor recreation entities to secure program locations and resources.
- Promote environmental stewardship and advocate for equitable access to outdoor spaces.
Budget and Grant Management:
- Assist with grant applications and manage program budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
- Track and report program expenses and outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
Evaluation and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze participant feedback to assess program impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on program performance and participant engagement for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Marketing and Outreach:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote programs through social media, newsletters, and community events.
- Represent Vibe Tribe Adventures at conferences, workshops, and outdoor industry events to raise awareness of our mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Recreation, Environmental Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, outdoor education, or adventure sports.
- Demonstrated passion for outdoor recreation, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools (e.g., Airtable, Canva, or similar platforms).
- Knowledge of safety protocols and risk management in outdoor activities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with diverse communities and age groups.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as program schedules require.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive program vehicles (e.g., vans).
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
- Wilderness First Aid (WFA), CPR, or Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification.
- Experience working with women-specific groups or leading women’s outdoor programs.
- Knowledge of Leave No Trace principles and outdoor ethics.
- Familiarity with trails and recreation areas in Denver, CO.

Our Women’s Outdoors Program is designed to inspire women to connect with nature, prioritize health and wellness, build outdoor skills, and foster meaningful connections with one another in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a female Adventure Guide to lead activities for our Women’s Outdoors Program. This role is critical to creating empowering, fun, and safe outdoor experiences for women participants. The ideal candidate will be passionate about outdoor recreation, women’s empowerment, and fostering a sense of belonging in outdoor spaces.
As an Adventure Guide, you will facilitate adventures ranging from hiking and camping to yoga and mindfulness workshops, ensuring participants feel confident, supported, and inspired every step of the way.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Guiding:
- Lead and facilitate outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, kayaking, snowshoeing, rock climbing, and mindfulness-based adventures.
- Provide mentorship and encouragement, ensuring participants feel supported and empowered throughout each activity.
- Set an example by promoting inclusion, equity, and respect in all interactions.
Safety and Risk Management:
- Monitor participant safety at all times by adhering to established safety guidelines and risk management practices.
- Conduct safety briefings before every activity and ensure participants feel informed and prepared.
- Carry and utilize first aid kits and emergency communication tools when necessary.
Outdoor Education and Skill Building:
- Teach participants essential outdoor skills, including Leave No Trace principles, navigation, and gear management.
- Share knowledge about local ecosystems, wildlife, and environmental conservation during outings.
Engagement and Empowerment:
- Foster an inclusive and supportive group dynamic that makes participants feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged to connect with one another.
- Be sensitive to the needs and experiences of women from diverse backgrounds.
Program Preparation and Coordination:
- Assist in planning and organizing trips, including coordinating gear, transportation, permits, and participant rosters.
- Work closely with program staff to ensure smooth event execution.
Environmental Stewardship:
- Advocate for sustainable outdoor practices and educate participants on how to care for natural spaces.
- Lead by example in practicing environmental stewardship during all activities.
Qualifications:
- Female guide with a passion for empowering women in outdoor spaces.
- Previous experience leading or participating in outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, kayaking, or climbing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse groups of women.
- Basic knowledge of outdoor safety practices and emergency response. (Wilderness First Aid or CPR certification preferred.)
- Reliable, organized, and enthusiastic about creating safe and memorable outdoor experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional weekdays, depending on the program schedule.
